Oh, trust me, I hate that part, too. That's the part that made me want to destroy the whole company. The wishes themselves aren't bad, it's just how they dangle them in front of us like they do.

But I think if this place is able to make these wishes happen, then they can't be the only ones who could. What it would look like without them, though... I don't know.

I keep trying to rationalize it. Like maybe this is the only way it works, for some reason. But I just don't know enough to be sure of that, and that makes it hard to sympathize with anyone but my peers.

I can understand that. Because if there is some other way, why bother forcing people to be miserable at all. And then to call that entertainment is... twisted.

Then again, it's a little depressing if there really is no other way for miracles to exist...

I suppose so... especially with so many worlds out there that could use a miracle.

But I don't want think that way. Things will work out. If not with a wish, then by our own power.

That's a nice way of looking at it. I hope that it's true.

Usually people call me naive for it. [ wryly. ] But I hope it's true, too. Even if people come here out of desperation, I don't want to believe that there's no way to help ourselves at all.

I'm sure there are people who come here because they have no other options...

But I've always been here as a matter of convenience. If this doesn't work out, I can still do what needs to be done.

I know. I just don't like thinking that we're that powerless.

I wouldn't think of it as powerless. Just... some problems are big, you know?

I suppose so. Sometimes they do feel impossible, though.

It's still worth trying. Even if it really is impossible.

I guess... people should decide for themselves. They would know the most about their own circumstances, after all.

Still, it's sad to think that there are some situations where the best option is to just give up.

Everyone will decide for themselves. But I do think that's another reason many of us are here - because giving up isn't an option.

... Unfortunately, I think that it is usually an option. But I think it's admirable when people don't consider it.

They wouldn't have as many people to take advantage of here if people really considered it.
