To be honest, it's something Mother and I suspected for a long time now. No one ever returns from the Abyss, after all. I'd just hoped that maybe it would be different this time, after... [ trails off...
anyway, shakes his head. ]
After thinking about it for a while, I decided it's probably better to focus on the family I still have. There aren't many of us left, so I really don't want to lose more.

...What about you? What're hoping to get out of this?
There was a terrible incident that happened back when I was a kid that wiped out the entirety of the old capital, and I want to find the truth behind what really caused it. If it were just another Hollow disaster I'd likely never bother with it, but our teacher—our... guardian, basically—has been blamed for it ever since it happened. There's not enough to say for sure, and we've already poured so much into getting this far. I have to know what happened, no matter what.
I can understand that. It-- It was the same with how I learned about my brother. [ being worried, perhaps even a little afraid, of the truth, but needing to know anyway, no matter how devastating it could be... it's familiar. ] I think you'll get your answer... and I hope it's the one you're hoping for.
You've taken most things with stride here, no matter what they threw at you... even when you died, you didn't let it keep you down for long. I think you'll be alright.
